The Darkhold

The Darkhold, also known as The Book of Sins, The Book of the Damned and The Book of Spells, is a book that holds immense power. It is said to be made up of dark matter from the Hell Dimension.

This book was first introduced in the Marvel show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., by Joseph and Lucy Bauer, alongside Eli Morrow. However, the Darkhold corrupted them, each of them trying to keep the power for themselves. Later in the show, Ghost Rider joined forces with S.H.I.E.L.D. to defeat Aida, and took the book back to Hell. A few episodes later, Morgan le Fay used the Darkhold to attempt to bring the Dark Dimension to Earth.

In the Marvel show, WandaVision, Agatha Harkness was shown to obtain the Book of Sins, which she then brought to Westview to amplify her power in order to fool and manipulate Wanda. The Darkhold was later taken by Wanda Maximoff to study the Book of Spells.

The Darkhold contains infinite knowledge. This book has a full chapter on Scarlet Witch along with spells, formulas, and information on how to make machines to harness power from other dimensions. When the pages are blank, they can be read when they enter in contact with the reader, the dark book reads the readers and adapts to them, showing them the information they look for, in a language the reader knows.

The secondary ability of the book is to corrupt the reader's mind and create a dangerous obsession over the Darkhold. A person who has used the Darkhold for a long time may not want others to even touch it.

The book has a third ability. It amplifies the user's magic, as shown with Agatha Harkness. The Salem witch used the book as an amplification totem.
